Republicans Smoking Crack

I just read a comment by Republican “strategist” Margaret Hoover, who said, ”Americans mostly don’t want lower taxes. The reason why is they don’t feel like the Bush tax cuts were worth it.”

Is this “Republican strategist” smoking crack?! No wonder we just lost a presidential election that we should have won with both sides of our brains tied behind our backs. This is precisely the kind of “wisdom” that must be rejected totally. American mostly don’t want lower taxes? Insanity! With Republican strategy like this … well, you finish the cliche.

Brother’s keeper

Barack Obama said in a speech, “I am my brother’s keeper, I am my sister’s keeper! …” He says that phrase sums up what America should be, and that he is the man to make that happen. He just needs your vote, and mine. Hmm. Sounds noble, in theory anyway. I have no disagreement with the idea.

Now let’s look at reality. Obama’s brother lives in an unheated, unplumbed hut in Africa and sustains himself on mere pennies a day. Hmm. His aunt (whom he mentioned favorably in his autobiography) lives in a slum in Boston, a ground-floor flat usually reserved for people who are destitute. She is old and frail and walks with the help of a cane. She’s also an illegal alien.

Is there not a clear disconnect here? Obama says A, yet he lives Z. How can anyone trust such a man with a vote for President? You may like what he says — some of it sounds good — but you have no basis whatsoever on which to believe he will actually do what he says. In fact, he’s proven the exact opposite to be true.
