Somebody in Washington please step up and be a real man (or real woman)! Regardless of party, stand up for what’s right! Be a patriot! Be a hero! STOP President Obama’s budget! STOP IT! Do whatever it takes to STOP IT! We the people cannot afford it. Nor can our children or grandchildren or great grandchildren — which is exactly who will be paying for it. We the people did not — knowingly or intelligently — vote in favor of a socialist takeover of our economy. So STOP IT! NOW! STOP THIS BUDGET!
Grab your pitchforks, people! Figuratively speaking, of course. Rather, grab your laptops, your iPhones, your Blackberries and contact your senators and representatives and tell them to STOP THIS INSANE BUDGET!
It won’t work. We don’t have the money. Did I say it won’t work? Duh! WTF? People, look at your own personal checkbooks and tell me, is it possible to SPEND your way out of debt? The answer is not just “no,” but HELL NO! Again, I say, WTF?!
STOP THE MADNESS!
STOP OBAMA’S BUDGET!
STOP THE MADNESS!
STOP OBAMA’S BUDGET!

I love basketball and I love ESPN, but I am sick and tired of ESPN’s relentless updates on Obama’s bracket results. I have no problem with Obama picking teams in a bracket. I’m sure many presidents have done the same. It’s the inappropriate, unprecedented, over-the-top coverage of his bracket picks that I find offensive. When has ESPN ever given such coverage — or should I say, promotion — to a political figure? It’s totally inappropriate, and it’s offensive! I’m glad Obama is a basketball fan. We have that in common. But why is ESPN inundating its audience with coverage of Obama’s picks? It’s the Obama-worship I find offensive, not his bracket picks.
BTW, Coach K in 2012!

So, are you ticked off about the AIG bonuses? Yeah! Those stinking jerks! But Congress says they’re going to do whatever it takes to get that money back! Sweet!
But why didn’t Congress do something about those bonuses LAST YEAR when they knew about them (listed in AIG’s contracts prior to the big bailout).
And why did Chris Dodd personally insert an EXEMPTION into the stimulus bill protecting these pre-existing bonuses? Hmm. Interesting.
By the way, these are retention bonuses, they pay people who are scheduled to be laid off to stick around for the interim so that the person’s responsibilities don’t go undone.
If Congress was really upset about this money — a mere pittance compared to the amount of earmarks in the stimulus bill – they would certainly be more upset about the 92 million AIG gave to other banks, some of whom rejected the bailout money on the surface only to get it through AIG, and some of them in Europe.
So, let’s open our eyes and minds and see this mess for what it really is — a slight of hand, a misdirection, a ruse designed to get our attention off the impending doom of Obama’s tax increases and our resulting poverty, as well as something to gin up support for Obama amid his falling popularity. Recent poll numbers show support for the President is falling. People are starting to wake up and smell the fertilizer.
So don’t fall for this crap, and don’t allow democrats to tighten their control over private citizens. If Congress can TAKE this money from these people, then none of us has anything that is truly ours.

Hello Great Britain,
This is America calling. No, not the so-called leaders of America, just us … the simple, everyday America. We’re the quiet ones, busy working, taking care of our families and trying to make ends meet. We don’t have time to picket or protest, or volunteer our time for many political causes. We’re bathing the kids, cooking the meals or working a second job to pay the bills. And we don’t watch a lot of the news, so please forgive us for missing the story.
We think you know what “story.” It was only after the fact that we learned of our country’s insult toward you. You see, our mainstream media have yet to speak of it, so we’re just learning the dirty details.
We’ve heard you are offended … and rightly so.
It seems our new president —despite his eloquence — is turning out to be quite the arrogant ass. His recent, rude treatment of your prime minister was unprecedented for any foreign leader. But considering our long-standing relationship, it was utterly despicable. We don’t understand it. We cannot explain it. And we do not condone it. We are appalled at mortally offending our closest and strongest friend. Thoughtless. Insulting. Unthinkable.
So, please forgive us, old friend. We know an apology is quite inadequate. But forgiveness might grant us a future day when we might respectfully redeem ourselves in your eyes. We hope.
Long live the Queen. God bless Great Britain. And God have mercy on America.
Your friend,
America

I just read Mike Huckabee’s “My President” piece. So let me get this straight: Up until now, black moms could not tell their children that “there are no limits to their opportunities in America” or that “their pathway to the top is not necessarily limited to sports or entertainment, but might be through education, hard work and public service”?
That’s absolutely crazy talk!
What about Clarence Thomas, Shelby Steele, Condi Rice, Walter Williams or Thomas Sowell? What about the tons of good role models who aren’t famous but live all around us?
Attitudes like this only fuel the argument that Mr. Obama was elected precisely because he is black. Mr. Huckabee’s letter almost says out loud that, hey isn’t it great that Obama was elected “in spite of it” (quotations mine).
Sorry, I voted against Obama not because he is black, but because I don’t agree with his beliefs, proposed policies or his stance on most issues. I don’t care what color he is. And neither should anyone else.

Barack Obama said in a speech, “I am my brother’s keeper, I am my sister’s keeper! …” He says that phrase sums up what America should be, and that he is the man to make that happen. He just needs your vote, and mine. Hmm. Sounds noble, in theory anyway. I have no disagreement with the idea.
Now let’s look at reality. Obama’s brother lives in an unheated, unplumbed hut in Africa and sustains himself on mere pennies a day. Hmm. His aunt (whom he mentioned favorably in his autobiography) lives in a slum in Boston, a ground-floor flat usually reserved for people who are destitute. She is old and frail and walks with the help of a cane. She’s also an illegal alien.
Is there not a clear disconnect here? Obama says A, yet he lives Z. How can anyone trust such a man with a vote for President? You may like what he says — some of it sounds good — but you have no basis whatsoever on which to believe he will actually do what he says. In fact, he’s proven the exact opposite to be true.
